Meet Our Staff

Michelle Porter: Principal
Mrs. Porter has been a lifelong resident of Greensboro and holds a B.S. in Interior Design and Business Management from Meredith College, as well as a Masters of Business Administration from Elon University. She has been actively involved in Greensboro real estate since 1994 and holds a NC Real Estate Broker’s License. Mrs. Porter is a CPM and CCIM candidate and holds the CRS, ABR, GRI, and CSR real estate designations, as well as being an active member of the Junior League of Greensboro. In 2007, Mrs. Porter was named the 9th highest producing real estate Broker in the Triad by the Triad Business Journal.

Lee Porter: Principal
Mr. Porter has been, predominately, a lifelong resident of Greensboro and holds a B.S. in Business Management and a minor in accounting from Guilford College. He holds a NC Real Estate Broker’s License has been an active real estate investor since 1994. Additionally, Mr. Porter is a candidate for the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation, one of the highest levels of achievement in real estate. Prior to full time participation in real estate, Mr. Porter traveled 49 states and 42 countries competing as a professional golfer for 16 years, including 6 years as an exempt member of the PGA TOUR. Mr. Porter also holds an unlimited NC General Contractors License.

Christie Ownbey: Senior Property Manager
Ms. Ownbey has been a lifelong resident of Greensboro and holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Meredith College. Ms. Ownbey has been involved in real estate in numerous capacities and holds a NC Real Estate Broker’s License.

Rita Davis: Accounting Manager
Ms. Davis has been a resident of Greensboro since 1995 and attended Penn State University and the University of Pennsylvania. Ms. Davis holds a NC Provisional Brokers Real Estate License. Prior to joining Birch Management, Ms. Davis was employed in the publishing industry as an editor.

Bob McBay: Operations Manager
Mr. McBay has been a resident of the Triad since 1998 and holds a B.S. in Business Administration from The University of North Carolina Greensboro and a degree in Elementary Education from Guilford College. Prior to joining Birch Management, Mr. McBay worked as a regional manager for a national restaurant chain and a manager for a construction company in his hometown in New England.

Kim Douglas: Leasing Agent
Mrs. Douglas has been a resident of Greensboro since 1983 and attended NC State University and holds a NC Real Estate Broker’s License. Formerly, Mrs. Douglas was affiliated with Prudential Carolinas Realty in Winston-Salem. Additionally, Mrs. Douglas is a member of the NC Home Educators Association and serves on the Board of Directors for the Greensboro Association of Home Educators.
